Karl Fostvedt, the Idaho-born freeskiing star, has just introduced his new pro model ski with K2, the Reckoner KF 114. Nicknamed "Crazy Karl," Fostvedt is known for his incredible stunts, award-winning films, and commitment to skiing. The Reckoner KF 114 reflects his two-decade ambition to create the ideal ski. Featuring Spectral Braid technology and a full sheet of carbon fiber, it’s designed for landing switch and tackling powder with ease.

Fostvedt’s partnership with K2 began in childhood and progressed through years of refining prototypes alongside K2’s Advanced Resource Collective (ARC). The result is a versatile ski, perfect for both backcountry and resort use, that mirrors his playful and technical approach to the sport.

In addition to his skiing achievements, Fostvedt is passionate about avalanche safety, frequently highlighting the importance of preparation and education. His work with the American Avalanche Institute underscores his commitment to both the sport and the safety of those who enjoy it, making him a role model on and off the slopes.

Salomon's Brigade INDEX is the first fully recyclable ski helmet, made from 96% polyolefins, including polypropylene. Developed over four years, it balances safety and sustainability. The helmet can be returned to Salomon for recycling into new products, reducing environmental impact by 19%. Salomon plans to expand this approach.

Alterra Mountain Company is investing over $300 million to enhance guest experiences at its North American resorts. Key projects include new lifts, expanded terrain, improved snowmaking, and upgraded amenities at Deer Valley, Steamboat, Mammoth Mountain, and more.
